Oliver Stone’s “Snowden” Gets Delayed

After being pushed back from a late 2015 to a May 13th 2016 release, Oliver Stone’s “Snowden” film has been pushed back several months again – it’s now slated to open September 16th.

The move by Open Road Films puts the project, which stars Joseph Gordon-Levitt as NSA whistleblower Edward Snowden and Shailene Woodley as his girlfriend, back in awards contention.

Melissa Leo, Zachary Quinto, Tom Wilkinson and Timothy Olyphant also star while Stone directs from a script he wrote with Kieran Fitzgerald based on Luke Harding’s book. Moritz Borman, Eric Kopeloff and Philip Schulz-Deyle are producing.
