“The Haunting of Hill House” and NBC’s “Dracula” star Oliver Jackson-Cohen will play the title role in Leigh Whannell’s “The Invisible Man” for Universal Pictures and Blumhouse.
The British thesp joins Elisabeth Moss, Aldis Hodge, Harriet Dyer and Storm Reid in this update on the classic Universal monsters character.
Plot details of this version are unknown, but this is the first film in the studio’s shift in strategy following its abandoning its big-budget interconnected ‘Dark Universe’ concept in favor of standalone films with more modest budgets that embrace ‘creative directors with distinctive visions’.
Whannell penned the script and is directing the film which begins filming in Sydney, Australia this month ahead of a March 13th 2020 opening. Jason Blum will produce.
