Oldman, Ventimiglia Run A “Criminal Empire”

Gary Oldman, Malin Akerman (“Watchmen,” “Couples Retreat”) and Milo Ventimiglia (“Pathology,” TV’s “Heroes”) will star in the $9 million indie gangster feature “Criminal Empire for Dummys” for Cold Fusion, Sleeping Giant, Gremi Productions and Hollywood Studios International says Variety.

Ventimiglia plays a charismatic young guy who went from a tragic childhood living in the ghetto to his current position as the head of a large multi-national organised crime syndicate. In flashback throughout the film he relates the do’s and don’ts of maintaining a criminal empire. Michael Clarke Duncan and Harvey Keitel also star.

Cliff Dorfman, a staff writer on “Entourage” who also penned the upcoming Tom Hardy film “Warrior”, will make his feature directorial debut on the film from his own script.

Michael Roban, Dave Brown, Greg Hadjarowicz and Paul Schiff will produce. Shooting kicks off late March in New Orleans.
