Gary Oldman and Antonio Banderas are reportedly circling the Steven Soderbergh-directed Panama Papers scandal thriller feature “The Laundromat” reports Deadline.
The drama deals with the revelations of reams of documents leaked from Panama-based law firm Mossack Fonseca by an anonymous whistleblower. The reveal bared embarrassing details on investments and money trails from politicians and the ultra-rich the world over in efforts to evade tax.
Scott Z. Burns (“Contagion”) penned the script for the film based on the Jake Bernstein book “Secrecy World”. Netflix is amongst several outlets and studios circling the project which Burns, Lawrence Grey, Soderbergh and Michael Sugar will produce.
