Isaiah Mustafa, better known as the guy from the award-winning Old Spice commercials, has swapped one Tyler Perry movie for another says The Hollywood Reporter.
Mustafa was scheduled to play a small role in Tyler Perry’s “For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When the Rainbow Is Enuf” currently scheduled to open early next year.
Now it seems Perry has nixed his role in that film and given him the lead role in his next project “Madea’s Big Happy Family” instead. Mustafa plays a man struggling with his marriage and family relationships. Loretta Devine and Bow Wow also star.
“I got a call from my manager a week and a half ago who told me that I would be in ‘Madea’s Big Happy Family’. It was confirmed last Monday, and I left on Friday to begin filming” says Mustafa who claims to not know why Perry decided to switch his role.
Shooting on the ‘Madea’ project began this week in Atlanta and will continue through into next month.
