O’Connell, Hoult Up For “Life in the Day”

Jack O’Connell (“Unbroken”) and Nicholas Hoult (“X-Men: First Class”) are both reportedly circling the Brian Epstein biopic “A Life In The Day” at Permut Presentations and Rivers Edge Films. Justin Chadwick (“Tulip Fever”) is in talks to direct while David Permut will produce.

Tony Gittelson penned this look at the flamboyantly gay music agent who discovered and managed the Beatles and then died of a drug overdose at 32. Should it go ahead, Hoult would play Epstein opposite O’Connell as the troubled John Lennon.

Epstein and Lennon shared a relationship that has been much debated about how intimate it was. Even Lennon’s widow Yoko Ono mused on it as almost a love affair that, though not consummated, was pretty intense.
