“TRON: Legacy” and “Oblivion” director Joseph Kosinski has been hired to helm a feature film adaptation of George Saunders’ short story “Spiderhead” for Netflix.
“Deadpool” and “Zombieland” scribes Rhett Reese & Paul Wernick are penning the script with the project being fast-tracked for Kosinski to direct after he finishes post-production on “Top Gun: Maverick”.
The story is set in the near future when convicts are offered the chance to volunteer as medical subjects in hopes of shortening their sentences.
One finds himself the test patient for a new pharmaceutical capable of generating feelings of love, he begins questioning the reality of his emotions and sets out to discover the truth.
Reese, Wernick, Jeremy Steckler and Eric Newman will produce.
