Mel Brooks has reportedly indicated that he is still stuck in the early stages of getting a sequel to iconic 1987 “Star Wars” spoof comedy “Spaceballs” into production.
Participating in a Q&A over the weekend at a screening for “Young Frankenstein” at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center, a Reddit user in attendance claims Brooks was asked about the possibility of the sequel actually happening.
Brooks responded that he is “talking with MGM” and that he’d love to see it happen. The talking with the studio line is new, but Brooks has indicated over the past few years an interest in a possible sequel.
Last year a bunch of NYC pranksters made up some fake “Spaceballs 2” theatrical posters that went viral in minutes.
