First she was in, then it was only a cameo, then she was out. Now it looks like Noomi Rapace is back in for Ridley Scott’s “Alien: Covenant” at 20th Century Fox.
Deadline reports that Rapace will reprise her role as Elizabeth Shaw, the lead character from “Prometheus” in this follow-up which is currently shooting in Sydney, Australia.
The actress will reportedly shoot several weeks worth of scenes for the film which also stars Michael Fassbender, Katherine Waterston, Danny McBride, Demian Bichir, Jussie Smolett, Amy Seimetz, Carmen Ejogo, Callie Hernandez and Billy Crudup.
The second chapter in a prequel trilogy that began with “Prometheus,” “Alien: Covenant” connects directly to Ridley Scott’s 1979 classic and begins with the colony ship Covenant bound for a remote planet – a dark, dangerous world whose sole inhabitant is the ‘synthetic’ David, survivor of the doomed Prometheus expedition.
Jack Paglen and Michael Green are providing the screenplay. The film is on track for an August 4th 2017 release.
