Noe Wants To Remake “Gold Told Me To”

“Irreversible” and “Enter the Void” filmmaker Gaspar Noe has reportedly been seeking the rights to remake cult writer/director Larry Cohen’s 1976 effort “God Told Me To”.

The latest issue of Film Comment (via IFC includes an interview with Cohen in which he mentioned he’d just had a meeting with Noe at which the topic came up.

The original film follows a detective (Tony LoBianco) ordered to investigate a series of murders committed by various people who claim that God instructed them to kill. The cop discovers the suspects are all connected to a religious cult.

Noe’s next project is his involvement in one part of the anthology feature “7 Days in Havana.” Could ‘God’ be next after that?
