Acclaimed art house filmmaker Noah Baumbach (“Greenberg,” “The Squid and the Whale”) will replace Ron Howard at the helm of “The Emperor’s Children” for Imagine Entertainment says The Wrap.
Baumbach adapted the script from Claire Messud’s 2006 best-selling novel. The story is set in 2001 and follows three East Coast Ivy League grads approaching their thirties with trepidation. Soon an idealistic college dropout makes some decisions that will change the lives of the trio forever.
Eric Bana, Richard Gere and Keira Knightley are attached to star. Though Howard won’t direct he remains attached as producer alongside his regular partner Brian Grazer. Filming kicks off this summer.
