The on-again, off-again talk of a “Bridesmaids” sequel appears to be off again as E! Online asked Kristen Wiig straight up if she’s going to write or star in one.
She responded that she’s “not planning on doing one. We had a special time making the first one, but we’re really excited to try something else.”
Wiig and her “Bridesmaids” co-writer Annie Mumolo are also already working on another project about which she says “It’s going to be a little bit of a different tone, but it’s going to be a comedy, for sure”
Meanwhile one film we don’t need a sequel to but might get one anyway is the 2008 Will Smith-led superhero project “Hancock”. Filmmaker Peter Berg tells CBM that “We’ve been talking about the sequel between us, Will Smith, [producers] Michael Mann and Akiva Goldman and myself.”
He goes on to say “We’re all interested, but we literally just have trouble getting into the same room at the same time. We did have a series of meetings last year and started to hash out an idea for sequel – and Will Smith actually had the idea – so I think it will happen, it’s just a question of timing.”
