Electronic Arts and DICE have confirmed that though a bunch of new DLC is coming to “Star Wars: Battlefront” over the next few months, none of it will feature characters or locations from the recently released “Star Wars: The Force Awakens”.
Players have reportedly been asking Electronic Arts about the possibility enough that EA used their official EA Star Wars Twitter account to post the following message for fans hoping to see characters like Rey, Kylo Ren, Poe Dameron of Finn as playable heroes or locations like Takodana and the Starkiller Base.
@ninjachris404 Our team is focusing on the original trilogy for this release of Star Wars Battlefront.

That doesn’t rule out that EA and DICE releasing some ‘Force Awakens’ gameplay in the future, but it won’t be a part of this title aside from the already released ‘Battle of Jakku’ element which is set decades before events in ‘Force Awakens’. More likely it will first appear in the next incarnation of “Star Wars: Battlefront” in a few years time.
DLC packs to be added include four new game modes, sixteen new multiplayer maps, and four new heroes. To get that requires individual purchasing of the DLC or a ‘Season Pass’ which comes in at $50.
