Following on from July’s ‘Next’ update, Hello Games has announced a new three-part update for “No Man’s Sky” titled ‘Beyond’ which will make sizeable changes to the game.
The first part will be ‘No Man’s Sky Online’ and Hello Games co-founder Sean Murray says he doesn’t consider it to be turning the game into something of an MMO, saying the update will include: “a radical new social and multiplayer experience which empowers players everywhere in the universe to meet and play together.”
He adds in the press release: “We will talk more about each of the three major components of Beyond when we know we can be precise, and look forward to sharing more in the coming weeks.”
Since the Next update in July, players have been able to play online with each other. The game, however, still lacks features such as a messaging system and a friends list.
The game has seen a major turnaround since its disastrous launch in 2016 when the game came out lacking many of its promised features and is seen as a cautionary tale of game marketing. That said, Hello has remained committed to improving and expanding the game with multiple updates and free DLC that has turned the tide of reaction.
