There’s been rumors of a fifth “Indiana Jones” film for many years, the latest batch stirring a few months ago which suggested that now that Disney has sorted out the “Star Wars” franchise, its turning its attention towards a potential reboot of the “Indiana Jones” franchise.
Indeed the stories began to take on a lifer of their own with even “Guardians of the Galaxy” and “Jurassic World” actor Chris Pratt being suggested for the role – reports a bemused Pratt denied. Then came a report today over at AICN which suggests a loose Q4 2018 release date is being targeted.
This conflicts with another report today from Slashfilm who spoke with producer Frank Marshall, and Lucasfilm chief Kathleen Kennedy’s husband, last week where Marshall told them there have been “no discussions” regarding a fifth “Indiana Jones” film or of Pratt taking over for Harrison Ford.
Could the success of “Jurassic World” have changed things so fast in a week? Doubtful, but we’ll see.
