No Babylon, Bangkok Screenings

Both Vin Diesel and Nicolas Cage’s new action films will not be screening for critics it seems.

Sci-Fi Movie Page reports that 20th Century Fox will not screen for American critics before its release this week, but they’re correspondent who has seen it says he thinks there’s a good reasn why – “Babylon A.D. is the sort of thing that would have starred either Christopher Lambert or Rutger Hauer in their straight-to-video heyday years ago”.

Next week the remake of “Bangkok Dangerous” is the sole wide release and according to Cinema Blend, Lionsgate have spread the word that there will be no plans to show the movie to the press in advance of its opening.

Considering both films are essentially being dumped in the weakest filmgoing time of year, the news comes as no huge surprise.
