Filming is officially set to get underway next month in New York City and Buffalo on the sequel to last year’s “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” reboot.
The NY Daily News revealed the news and include a quote from Mayor de Blasio who says:
“New York City knows how to host blockbuster films. We welcome ‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2’ to New York City, and look forward to the many jobs and tens of millions of jobs this will bring to our local economy.”
It’s expected around $63 million will be spent within New York City itself, though specifics about which neighbourhoods they will shoot in are not available. It’s rumored, but not confirmed, that characters like Bebop, Rocksteady and Krang will appear.
Michael Bay, Brad Fuller, and Andrew Form will return to produce the upcoming sequel which features a script by Josh Appelbaum and Andre Nemec. David Green directs the film which opens June 3rd 2016.
