Niki Caro Has All The Luck

Niki Caro (“North Country,” “Whale Rider”) is set to direct a film adaptation of Elizabeth Knox’s novel “The Vintner’s Luck” says The Hollywood Reporter.

The story revolves around a peasant winemaker in 19th century France as he grapples with the sensual, sacred and profane while searching for the perfect vintage. Caro co-wrote the film with Joan Scheckel.

Jeremie Renier, Gaspard Ullie, Vera Farmiga, Maria Ruiz and Keisha Castle-Hughes star with shooting scheduled to begin February in Auckland before moving to Southern France and Belgium in March.
