Bill Nighy is in negotiations to join the cast of the Len Wiseman-directed remake of “Total Recall” for Sony Pictures says Heat Vision
Loosely based on the Philip K. Dick story “We Can Remember It for You Wholesale”, Colin Farrell plays Douglas Quaid, a factory worker who, after visiting a place that sells implanted memories, comes to believe he is a secret agent. He soon wonders which super power he works for – Euromerica or New Shanghai.
Nighy will play Quatto, the leader of the resistance. It’s expected he won’t be anything like the mutant puppet living off a human like he was in the previous 1990 Arnold Schwarzenegger-led adaptation.
At the same time it seems that previously reported about Kate Beckinsale and Jessica Biel are now confirmed for the female leads, while Ethan Hawke will have a small cameo.
Bryan Cranston is already cast as the villain Cohagen. Shooting kicks off in June in Toronto.
