Though planned as a one-off adaptation of the John le Carre novel, the BBC and AMC thriller series “The Night Manager” is developing a second season with specifics about it still very much under wraps.
Tom Hiddleston, Hugh Laurie, Elizabeth Debicki, Olivia Colman and Tom Hollander led the original six episode mini-series about an MI6 agent who goes undercover to expose a billionaire arms dealer.
The show has yet to be officially recommissioned, but serious progress is being made in development with a writers room having just been assembled with some notable names a part of it. In the room are Namsi Khan (“Humans,” “Black Mirror”), Francesca Gardiner (“The Man In The High Castle,” “Medici: Masters of Florence”), Matthew Orton (“Operation Finale”) and British spy author Charles Cumming.
The four are said to be already at work on story ideas and early drafts, though it’s not clear when the series could go into production.
