Nicolas Cage has signed with Hannibal Classics for a pair of action movies – “Red Squad” and “Zander” – with both to shoot in Puerto Rico in October through the end of the year.
In ‘Squad,’ Cage will play a recently paroled Navy SEAL who teams up with a fed-up DEA Agent to take down a ruthless drug lord.
In ‘Zander,’ Cage will play a coffee farm owner in Puerto Rico who teams up with a local rogue cop to, you guessed it, take down a ruthless drug lord.
Alexander Witt will helm ‘Squad,’ “Zander” is still seeking a director. Jorge Suarez, Cam Cannon, Scott Windhauser and David Sardi penned ‘Squad’ while Windhauser is also penning “Zander”.
Richard Rionda Del Castro, Moshe Diamant, Luillo Ruiz and Oscar Generale are producing ‘Squad’, while all but Generale will produce “Zander”.
