Paramount Pictures is reportedly in early stages of development of a live-action/animated “Nicktoons” movie which would bring together various 1990s fan-favorite cartoons like “Rugrats,” “Angry Beavers,” “Hey Arnold!,” “Rocko’s Modern Life,” “Ren & Stimpy” and more.
The Tracking Board reported the news and says the aim would be a movie that crosses over these many characters ala “The LEGO Movie” or Marvel’s “The Avengers”. Paramount is said to be currently trying to secure the rights to each of the shows they wish to include in this crossover movie.
Mary Parent and Cale Boyter’s Disruption Entertainment would produce the film with script writers currently being sought. The news comes on the heels of a report this week that Nickelodeon is thinking or rebooting some of its fan-favorite 1990s cartoons.
