Oscar-nominee and acting veteran Nick Nolte has signed on to star in “The Mandalorian,” one of the two “Star Wars” live-action series being developed for Disney+.
Nolte marks the third bit of casting alongside Pedro Pascal (“Game of Thrones”) and Gina Carano (“Haywire”), specifics of his character are under wraps.
The story is set after the fall of the Empire and before the emergence of the First Order. We follow the travails of a lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy far from the authority of the New Republic.
The ten-episode first season will have a combined budget of $100 million which Jon Favreau is penning and will executive produce alongside Dave Filoni, Kathleen Kennedy, and Colin Wilson. Filoni, Taika Waititi, Rick Famuyiwa, Deborah Chow and Bryce Dallas Howard will direct episodes.
