Nichols Helm “Fusion”, Summit Gets “Boot Camp”

“Take Shelter” writer/director Jeff Nichols is in negotiations with Chernin Entertainment to develop “The Boy Who Played With Fusion” as a directing vehicle for himself. Peter Chernin and Jenno Topping will produce says Deadline.

Chernin acquired the film rights to an article back in the March issue of Popular Science magazine about the true story of Taylor Wilson, a 14-year old Arkansan who became the youngest ever to achieve nuclear fusion.

Meanwhile, Summit Entertainment has acquired film rights to M.A. Larson”s novel “Pennyroyal’s Boot Camp” which Reese Witherspoon will produce and play a supporting role in.

Larson will write the script about an orphaned girl travels to the Pennyroyal Boot Camp where she and her friends train to become warrior princesses in order to defeat an ever-growing threat of wicked witches.
