He has been considered the front runner for a while, now British actor Nicholas Hoult (“A Single Man,” “Clash of the Titans”) has been offered the lead role and has begun negotiations to star in Bryan Singer’s “Jack the Giant Killer” for New Line and Legendary Pictures says Deadline.
Christopher McQuarrie (“The Usual Suspects”) penned the script in which a princess is kidnapped, threatening the long-standing peace between humans and giants. A young farmer is then forced to lead a rescue mission to the giants’ kingdom.
Hoult is expected to close the deal quickly after emerging as the lead following a long testing process. The 6’3″ young star, who was the lead in the first two seasons of the original UK series of “Skins”, plays Beast in the upcoming “X-Men: First Class” which Singer produced. He also has a role in “Mad Max: Fury Road” which is scheduled to shoot next year.
