Two decades after nearly taking on the role in Tim Burton’s failed to get off the ground “Superman Lives,” Nicolas Cage will finally play Kal-El – albeit in only voice form.
Cage is set to voice Superman alongside singer/songwriter Halsey as “Wonder Woman” and rapper Lil Yachty as Green Lantern in the animated feature “Teen Titans GO! to the Movies” based on the beloved kids show.
The voice cast also includes Scott Menville as Robin, Hynden Walch as Starfire, Tara Strong as Raven, Khary Payton as Cyborg, Greg Cipes as Beast Boy, Will Arnett as Slade Wilson and Kristen Bell as Jade Wilson. The film opens July 27th.
Additionally Cage will lead the cast of former Navy SEAL Jason Cabell’s new drug trade thriller “Running with the Devil” which just began filming in Mexico. Laurence Fishburne, Leslie Bibb, Barry Pepper, Adam Goldberg, Clifton Collins Jr, Cole Hauser and Peter Facinelli also star.
Cabell, who worked with the DEA in Colombia, also penned the story of a cocaine shipment that travels from Mexico though the U.S. to Canada. When its compromised, the cartel’s head (Pepper) orders his most trusted cook (Cage) and a master trafficker (Fishburne) on a dangerous journey to audit the company’s supply chain.
