Mandalay Pictures will adapt Liquid Comic's action-adventure graphic novel "Ramayan 3392 AD" for the big screen says the trades.

Scribe John Collee ("Master and Commander," "Happy Feet") will adapt the story, described as a reimagining of an ancient Hindu epic.

The story centers on Prince Rama, the legendary blue-skinned warrior and an incarnation of the god Vishnu, fights to save his beloved from the demon king who kidnapped her.

Mark Canton and Cathy Schulman will produce. The comic is also being developed as a multiplayer online game by Sony Online Entertainment.
