IFC Films has acquired North American rights to the John Leguizamo drama "Where God Left His Shoes" from Vulcan Productions says The Hollywood Reporter.

Salvatore Stabile's sophomore film revolves around an ex-boxer (Leguizamo) and his wife (Leonor Varela) who are forced to move their family to a homeless shelter.

On Christmas Eve, the father takes his 10-year-old stepson on a journey around New York to find a job qualifying them for a housing project apartment.

The film will be released theatrically and on VOD in December through the day-and-date IFC in Theaters program.
