    By Garth FranklinMonday, August 18th 2008 12:36am
image Lakeshore President and film producer Gary Lucchesi talked with Collider.com about the upcoming "Fame" remake.

The big reveal is that the film, with a budget of around $25-30 million, has now been scheduled for a September 25th 2009 release.

The project is set in the present day and will use all new songs except for the classic title track. The students will all be played by unknowns, but some of the teacher roles will be recognizable.

Filming will begin this November in New York for exteriors and interiors in Los Angeles.
