Gillian Anderson will star in and produce a biopic of pioneering war correspondent Martha Gellhorn says Variety.

Gellhorn covered conflicts from the Spanish Civil War to Vietnam and weathered strife in personal relationships that included a failed marriage to Ernest Hemingway.

British playwright and screenwriter Sharman Macdonald is penning the feature adaptation based on a 2004 biography penned by Caroline Moorehead.
