Lawrence Kasdan ("Raiders of the Lost Ark," "Dreamcatcher") has been hired to pen the live-action feature film adaptation of "Robotech" reports CHUD.

Robotech is a sci-fi franchise that combined three different anime television series into one edited and revoiced single series for US broadcast.

The story deals with scientific advances discovered in an alien starship that crashed in the South Pacific to develop giant robotic machines to fight three successive extraterrestrial invasions.

At last report, Tobey Maguire's Maguire Entertainment was developing the picture for Warner Brothers with little known scribe Craig Zahler attached.
