Emilio Ferrari has signed on to produce the $30 million indie drama "Waco" under his A Plus Productions reports Variety.

"Waco" centers on the 1993 stand-off at Waco, Texas, when the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives attempted to arrest David Koresh, leader of the Branch Davidian cult.

Rupert Wainwright ("Stigmata," "The Fog") will direct from his script, co-written with James Hibberd. Shooting begins in October.
