Dylan McDermott and Scott Caan will star in the indie romance "Mercy" reports Variety.

The story, written by Caan who's also producing, centers on a successful but cynical young novelist who writes about love but doesn't believe in it until he falls in love for the first time.

Alexie Gilmore, Erika Christensen, Troy Garity and John Boyd also star. Director Patrick Hoelck begins production Monday in Los Angeles.
