"Superbad" star Jonah Hill will executive produce and pen the screenplay for Sony's big screen adaptation of 80's teen series "21 Jump Street" says Entertainment Weekly.

In the series, which ran from 1987-1990 on Fox, Johnny Depp played officer Tom Hanson who was assigned to an elite squad of young undercover cops - Judy Hoffs (Holly Robinson Peete), Doug Penhall (Peter DeLuise) and Harry Truman Ioki (Dustin Nguyen) - to infiltrate high schools and fight crime.

It hasn't been decided whether Hill will star in the movie, but Neal Moritz and series co-creator Stephen J. Cannell will produce.
