Platinum Studios, Top Cow Productions and Arclight Films are teaming on a live-action feature adaptation of the comic book series "Witchblade" says Variety.

The story centers on an ornate jewel-encrusted gauntlet that gives extraordinary powers to the wearer, a specially chosen female from each generation.

The show was previously turned into a two season cable TV series for TNT in 2000 starring Yancy Butler and David Chokachi. Shooting on the new film will take place in Australia.
