A huge cast of British actors has been assembled for the thriller "Endgame" which Pete Travis ("Vantage Point") is directing reports the trades.

William Hurt, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Jonny Lee Miller, Mark Strong, Derek Jacobi and Timothy West have all joined the cast.

The story deals with the clandestine and high-risk talks that took place between key Afrikaners of South Africa's white rule government and African National Congress exiles. The discussions brought about the end of apartheid and the release of Nelson Mandela.

BAFTA- and Emmy-winning screenwriter Paula Milne penned the story using Robert Harvey's book "The Fall of Apartheid" as the principal source material.

The film began shooting in the U.K. and South Africa this week.
