"The Sopranos" star Michael Imperioli will make his feature helming debut with his ensemble drama script "The Hungry Ghosts" reports Variety.

Interwoven plotlines involve divorcees Steve Schirripa and Sharon Angela trying to keep their troubled son off the streets and ex-lovers Nick Sandow and Aunjanue Ellis negotiating a push-pull relationship.

A 24-day shoot on the low-budget feature kicks off May 19th in New York City. Imperioli previously co-wrote and exec-produced Spike Lee's "Summer of Sam" and scripted five episodes of "The Sopranos."
