Elizabeth Banks ("Seabiscuit," "Slither") is in final negotiations to join Oliver Stone's "W" says The Hollywood Reporter.

The biopic follows the life and presidency of current reigning U.S. President George W. Bush, from his early days in the Texas National Guard through to the war on terror.

How much of his presidency, and the issue of the Iraq war, it will cover is uncertain at this time.

Josh Brolin is already on board to play Bush with Banks set to play First Lady Laura Bush.

Stone wrote the screenplay with his "Wall Street" co-writer Stanley Weiser and shooting begins late April in Shreveport, Louisiana.
