  • Bourne, Thor, Ant-Man Updates
    By Garth FranklinMonday, March 10th 2008 1:45am
image Empire Magazine ran their awards show over the weekend, and the stars in attendance talked about their upcoming projects. Amongst them:

    Bourne 4
"We're all for doing a fourth movie but it means coming up with a good story. There are a lot of things that would have to happen before we would sign up for it" says Matt Damon. Director Paul Greengrass adds that "We're in the process of trying to work out what kind of film you could make. If there is one, what would it be? How it could go? Without any pressure; without any commitment to it, but everybody loved the franchise. We love it, but none of us would want to go again unless we're sure there's a worthwhile film and that could take some time. You don't want to do that when you feel like you've got to make it and none of us need to, so that's where we are."

    Thor
Director Matthew Vaughn says "We're in a holding pattern at the moment. It's up to Marvel, they have to decide if they want to make the movie and then we take it from there." He adds that "the main role is going to be played by someone totally unknown. It can't be a star, it's got to be someone totally unknown... I think you have to respect that it is comic book and silly to be frank, so you have to combine that with a modern style and hopefully come up with something fresh. I think we can come up with something special."

    Ant-Man
Director Edgar Wright says "It's written and we're doing a second draft of it. It's going to be less overtly comedic than anything else I've ever done. It's more of a full-on action adventure sci-fi film but with a comedic element - in the same spirit of a lot of escapist fare like that. It's certainly not a superhero spoof or pastiche." Which version of the hero would it be? "It could be Scott Lang, it could be Hank Pym, it could be both - okay it is both, now there's an exclusive for you."

    Edgar Wright's Next

The director does confirm he'll do another film in his 'Cornetto trilogy' ("Shaun of the Dead" & "Hot Fuzz" being the first two), saying "That's one of the things that we're going to do with Working Title who we've just signed a two-picture deal with. It will have comedy and a cross-genre in a similar way... it'll be a trilogy in tone but I can't say any more than that."
