Anne Heche is set to star opposite Ashton Kutcher in the indie romantic comedy "Spread" reports Reuters.

Penned by by Jason Dean Hall, the pair will mix it up in the tale of a womanizer and the lover he scorns. David Mackenzie directs.

Jennifer Jason Leigh dropped out of the project February 21st for undisclosed reasons. News reports have suggested that Leigh and her husband Noah Baumbach are expecting a child.

Shooting on "Spread" will begin immediately and will be completed before Heche's TV series "Men in Trees" resumes shooting in the summer.
