Fox 2000 is turning Jeff Kinney's bestselling "Diary of a Wimpy Kid" five novel series into a live-action family film franchise says The Hollywood Reporter.

The books, composed of handwriting and animation, chronicles the daily indignities faced by middle school student Greg Heffley.

Nina Jacobson will produce the first feature, with more to possibly follow. The studio is currently seeking a director and screenwriter for the project.
