    By Garth FranklinSunday, January 27th 2008 12:21am
image Martin Scorsese's mystery drama "Shutter Island" has changed its name to "Ashecliffe" reports The Boston Herald.

'Shutter Island' is the name of the 2003 Dennis Lehane novel on which the film is based, whilst 'Ashecliffe' is the name of the asylum located on the fictional island off Boston harbor. No word as to why the title was changed.

Set in 1954, the story follows two U.S. Marshals investigating the disappearance of a serial killer patient. Searching the island as a hurricane bears down on them, they find that the hospital has practiced sinister measures during its existence.

Leonardo DiCaprio, Michelle Williams, Mark Ruffalo, Ben Kingsley and Patricia Clarkson star. Sylvester Stallone was previously rumoured to star but is no longer involved. A 2009 release is targeted.
