  • "Terminator" Anime Anthology Planned
    By Garth FranklinMonday January 14th 2008 8:28am
image Out doing press for this past weekend's premiere of "Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles", The Dead Bolt got talking with consulting producer James Middleton who spoke about the status of the upcoming fourth film and revealed a whole new spin-off project in the works.

First up he confirmed that "Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins" is slated to begin production in late April. McG is directing, Christian Bale is starring, and a late Summer 2009 release is set.

More interesting though is that he's also working on an animation project called "Termination" which will utilize anime and animation auteurs to do individual segments inspired by the Terminator franchise.

Much like "The Animatrix" and the upcoming "Batman: Gotham Knight" lead into "The Matrix Reloaded" and "The Dark Knight" respectively, this direct-to-DVD anthology film will look at events between T3 & T4, namely the impact of Judgement Day outside of Los Angeles.

He says that "We'll have European animators as well as Japanese animators. We're just in early development and hope to have that ready for release in 2009."
