  • "Justice League" On Hold/Canned?
    By Garth FranklinWednesday January 9th 2008 7:55am
image The IESB reports that Warner Bros.' planned "Justice League" feature film project could be cancelled in spite all the pre-production work that has already taken place at Sydney's Fox Studios.

A source tells the site that "Justice League is indeed in danger of not starting production on time, and maybe even getting scrapped altogether. The concerns are that the script is not ready to go in front of cameras, and also that the budget is getting a bit out of control."

The ongoing writer's strike means script issues are proving impossible to resolve, whilst studio execs are apparently "not happy with the actors brought in to play the superheroes, calling them "mediocre" at best".

Both "Batman Begins" and "Superman Returns" directors Chris Nolan and Bryan Singer have both been against the project from early on, the only thing giving people faith so far has been acclaimed director George Miller's involvement - but is it enough?

In any case production on 'League' has now apparently been pushed back to at least April, if it's ever going to go forward at all.
