Michael Chiklis has joined the cast of the D.J. Caruso-directed thriller "Eagle Eye" for DreamWorks Pictures says The Hollywood Reporter.

Chiklis ("The Shield") will play the U.S. secretary of defense in the story that revolves around a slacker (Shia LaBeouf) and a single mother (Michelle Monaghan) who form an unlikely partnership when they are framed as terrorists and forced to become members of a cell with plans to carry out a political assassination.

Billy Bob Thornton, Rosario Dawson, Anthony Azizi and Anthony Mackie have already been cast. Shooting was on hiatus over the holidays but is now back in production and scheduled to wrap in February for release in August.
