  • Christensen Leads "Neuromancer" Film
    By Garth FranklinTuesday January 8th 2008 12:05am
image JoBlo reports that a film adaptation of William Gibson's definitive 1984 novel "Neuromancer" may finally be underway as a $70 million independent production.

Hayden Christensen is being lured to star as Case, a talented hacker whose poisoned nervous system reduces him to hustling Japan's dystopian streets before he gets the offer of his lifetime.

'Neuromancer' is notable for being the most famous early cyberpunk novel and delving into the issues of cyberspace, virtual reality, artificial intelligence and cheap ubiquitous technology long before these things became an integral part of modern culture.

Joseph Kahn ("Torque") will helm the project. Helmers Chuck Russell and music video director Chris Cunningham made previous attempts to adapt the property in the past.
