  • Golden Globes Not Going To Air?
    By Garth FranklinThursday January 3rd 2008 12:36am
image With less than a fortnight to go, organisers for the Golden Globes have begun to panic as with the writer's strike continuing, awards shows are looking less and less likely to happen this year.

On Wednesday the Hollywood Foreign Press Association issued a statement claiming it had begun discussions with the Writer's Guild to "enter into an interim agreement", much like that David Letterman did which allowed his show to go back into production with its writers.

Not long after, the Guild released its own statement basically saying that such an agreement will not be happening and that members of the Guild will still be picketing the Golden Globe Awards next Sunday.

A few minutes after that, the Screen Actors Guild issued its own statement saying that unless there is an agreement, it will advise our members to not cross the picket lines - in other words major stars (including many of the nominees) are unlikely to show up.

How will it all pan out? I'll keep you advised.
