  • "The Host" Gets A Prequel
    By Garth FranklinThursday January 3rd 2008 12:29am
image One of the surprise hits of last year across various international territories, South Korean monster movie "The Host" has proven both a critical and commercial success - enough of one that a sequel has been talked about for some time now.

Twitchfilm now reports that the sequel will actually be a prequel. Korean comic artist Kang Full’s script takes place three years prior to the original film, and the story revolves around the excavation of the Cheonggye Stream, an ancient waterway running through Seoul that was recently reclaimed and restored after years of being covered by a highway.

The site also reports that multiple monsters will be featured. No director or cast has been announced but the first film's director Bong Joon-Ho is not expected to return.
