Australian soap star turned pop singer Natalie Imbruglia has auditioned for a role in Gavin Hood's "X-Men Origins: Wolverine" reports The Herald Sun.

Imbruglia tested a fortnight ago for a role in the upcoming X-Men prequel which Hugh Jackman is starring in. Production on the project is about to get underway at the Fox Studios complex in Sydney, Australia.

No word on the role that she read for, but last month it was rumored that Maggie Q was the front runner for the role of Silver Fox, Wolverine's love interest. Could be the same role.

Meanwhile reports have drudged up a two-month old rumor that Bailey Chase (TV's "Buffy") would be playing Gambit. Both sound like dubious claims, the latter more so.
