Tyler Perry is ditching his Madea female fat suit and slipping into a Starfleet uniform for J.J. Abrams upcoming reboot of the "Star Trek" film franchise reports UGO.

This would mark the first time the famed playwright/actor/filmmaker, who has been churning out a highly profitable series of films for Lionsgate over the last few years, has appeared in a movie outside of his own projects.

According to the site (SPOILERS AHEAD), Perry would play the head of Starfleet Academy who will oversee an academic hearing over Cadet James T. Kirk (Chris Pine) and his cheating in the Kobiyashi Maru simulation (an event referenced previously in "Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan").

Kirk, facing expulsion from Academy, apparently demands to know who accused him of cheating. That person is Spock (Zachary Quinto) and this is where they apparently meet for the first time.
